Heal loudly, You’re safe here.

Hi! I’m Johanna! (she/Her)

Proud Member of TherapyDen

Safe & Loud is a space built for people who’ve been told they’re “too much,” “too intense,” or just “too loud.” If you’ve spent too long trying to fit into boxes that were never made for you, welcome to my practice. This space is made for you.

If you’re looking for a therapist who sits quietly and nods for an hour, that’t not me. I show up with warmth, humor, fierce compassion, and a deep belief that everyone is capable of healing. If you’ve ever been told that your trauma “isn’t that bad,” and you find yourself feeling lonely and invalidated, I am here for you. Your experiences are real, your voice is important.

My style is validating, direct, and collaborative. Clients have told me they appreciate my energy, humor, and ability to “get to the root of it.” I create a space where being honest (and even messy!) feels safe.

I specialize in trauma work using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) — both are evidence-based approaches designed to support you in understanding your trauma, reclaiming your narrative, and reducing the intensity of triggers, shame, and negative beliefs.

You don’t have to carry the weight of your story alone. Whether you’re navigating the aftermath of trauma, untangling self-worth from survival strategies, or just trying to find your voice again — this is a place for you.

My practice is social justice-oriented, neurodivergent-affirming, 2SLGBTQIA+/queer-affirming.

Let’s get loud about what matters. Let’s get safe enough to heal.

You Deserve to be listened to.

Schedule a free 15 minute call by leaving a voicemail or texting me at 816-388-0370, or by filling out the CONTACT JOHANNA form below!

Virtual therapy available too:

I prefer in-person sessions — I value the connection that can happen face-to-face. That said, I recognize the importance of accessibility.

That’s why I offer both: in-person and virtual, so we can work together in the way that feels safest and most supportive for you.

Experience has taught me that the only way to heal is to be heard and understood, to have one’s truth respected and acknowledged.
